A note of caution concerning the purchase of laptop batteries. There are a number of companies selling laptop batteries on the web that are priced well below the industry average. As a consumer you should be aware that many of these cheap batteries are made by Chinese manufacturers that use inferior battery components. Although cheap, these batteries can be very unsafe to use. If the battery's cells or components are defective the battery can literally explode inside the laptop.

In an article from a consumer news publication zdnet this very issue is discussed. Although the Zdnet article deals primarily cellular batteries the same safety issue apply to laptop batteries.

So how do you know if you are buying an inferior battery? Other than their low price there is is no easy way to know if the battery you are buying is made with cells and components of poor quality. A battery made with quality cells and components will meets UL (Underwriters Laboratory) compliancy standards. The failure of a battery to meet these standards can usually be traced to the battery's components. A battery can be made with inferior components for up to 20-30%.less than one made with high quality parts. The battery retailers that sale these cheap batteries believe the consumer is uninformed about these safety issues and will therefore be driven by price alone.

As for the batteries that I sell, you can be assured that they comply with UL2054 and UL1642 battery safety standards. I have listed below the tests that our batteries must pass to comply with these UL standards.
